Promoting an Integrated Approach to Combat Gender Based Violence
A Training Manual

This manual promotes an integrated approach to combat gender-based violence with governments, non-governmental organisations, private sector and international organisations working together. It addresses the problems inherent in the current strategies, especially lack of collaboration between the different agencies and individuals working in the area of gender-based violence. It encourages the development and implementation of comprehensive and coherent policies, programmes and national plans of action on gender-based violence.
Provides easy-to-read instructional materials and case studies for training managers, middle-level professionals, development workers and extension agents. A do-it-yourself manual, the book is based on the Commonwealth Secretariat model framework for an integrated approach to combat violence against women.
• A flexible tool that can be adapted to suit national and local situations.
• Uses the strengths of the Gender Management System.
• Promotes an integrated approach to combat GBV.
• Draws on experiences from workshops and consultations facilitated by the Commonwealth Secretariat in Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
